Gather the Necessary Tools
Hair Trix Comb	Folding Wig Stand	Shampoo & Conditioner	Tub or Basin
Towel

Step 1: Removing Tangles

Using a wig comb, gently comb your wig or hairpiece, starting from the ends up, to remove any teasing or tangles.

Step 2: Preparing the Water

The best care is to wash your wig or hair piece as infrequently as possible. The only time you have to wash your piece is when it starts to acquire an odor, or if it starts to look dull.

Fill your sink with lukewarm to cold water

	Remember
DO NOT use hot water! Hot water causes the cap and wefts to relax and release the hair fiber.

Add a capful of Shampoo, specially formulated for synthetic hair, to the water.

Human hair products can change the texture of synthetic fiber!

Step 3: Soaking the Wig

Soak for about 3 minutes, gently swish up and down for a thorough wash.

	Remember
DO NOT rub the hair! Be very gentle with it and treat it like a delicate garment.

Step 4: Rinse Shampoo

Rinse hair in cold water, until entire shampoo residue is gone.

Step 5: Pat Out Excess Water

Pat out excess water on soft towel.

	Remember
DO NOT squeeze or twist! Squeezing or twisting creates tension on the piece and may cause the hair to shed.

Step 6: Conditioning the Wig

Using a Leave-In Spray Conditioner, specially formulated for synthetic hair, lightly spray the entire piece while it is wet to bring back the original softness and sheen to hair.

Step 7: Drying the Wig

After removing excess water by patting on a towel, allow to dry at room temperature by draping wig or hairpiece over a folding wig stand to allow air circulation.

	Remember
NEVER dry a wig or hairpiece on a solid headstand or block, as it will stretch the cap or form. Avoid direct sunlight or any heat source while drying. DO NOT USE HAIR DRYER, BLOW DRYER, OR CURLING IRON. Avoid excess heat. Sudden bursts of heat, such as opening an oven door, will damage your wig.

Step 8: Styling the Wig

After it is completely dry, shake it to loosen hair. Spray wig with a light mist of water and shake. Most wigs will bounce back to their original shape. Styling products, specially formulated for synthetic hair, will help to finish the style.

Comb, or fingerstyle to bring back the original beauty of your piece.

DO NOT brush or comb curly wigs. Use fingers to lift and shape curls. This will allow the hair to maintain the original curl pattern and prevent the hair from looking frizzy.

Cleaning Synthetic Hair

Tip

Caring for your new hair product is easy, and you should treat your new product as an investment that you want to keep looking new and fresh for as long as possible. The correct care and maintenance will allow you to continue using the product with the best results for the longest amount of time. So, use the following instructions as a gauge for determining how and when you should wash and care for your products. Just like your own hair, synthetic hair will accumulate residue through normal wear. However, you do not need to wash the synthetic hair everyday to keep consistent results. The fiber should be washed as infrequently as possible or when you notice that the fiber appears dull. If you are wearing the hair all day, every day, you can wash them after 4-6 wearings.

Before shampooing, gently remove any tangles or teasing with your fingers or a pick comb. Do not brush.

Add one teaspoonful of any mild shampoo to two quarts cold - never hot - water.

Immerse the hair and soak 3-5 minutes, then gently swish up and down. Do not rub.

Rinse thouroughly twice in cold water.

Dab gently with a towel to remove excess water. Do not squeeze or twist.

While still wet, spray with a leave in conditioner that is specifically formulated for synthetic hair goods.

Dry on a towel at room temperature.

Style with fingers or pick comb. Do not use hair dryer, blow dryer or curling iron. Avoid excess heat. Do not brush or comb while wet.

Care Between Wear

Spray with a light mist of leave-in conditioner (specifically formulated for synthetic fiber) to keep your hair looking fresh and healthy.

Gently remove any tangles using your fingers or pick comb.

A water soluble hair spray may be used for a light hold.

Styling the Hair

	Remember
Blow dryers, curling irons and other thermal tools should not be used on synthetic fiber as the heat can melt the fiber.

Because the curl pattern (or lack of a curl pattern) is baked into the fiber, it is not necessary to set your synthetic hair after washing. However, if you wish, wet setting is the safest way to curl your hair.

You may want to have the hair custom cut to achieve your desired style. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CUT IT YOURSELF. Take your product to a salon professional.

Storing the Hair

It is best to store the synthetic hair in it's original container. However, you can store the hair in a plastic bag.

To keep the desired curl pattern, you may want to set the hair on rollers that conform to the curl size you wish to maintain before storing in plastic.

Do not sleep or swim while wearing the synthetic hair.
